Reasons to Get Custom Earplugs

You may choose to get custom earplugs if you:

  • use earplugs regularly, as they can be washed and kept clean.
  • have small or larger ear canals or
  • need ear plugs for a special purpose, for example,
    • to fit under a helmet,
    • broadcaster earpieces,
      filtering music (reducing the frequencies equally so you can still hear music accurately) or
    • Shooting – block loud impulse sounds.

We can also make personal sound monitors for music or communication for example:

Custom earplugs are made by making an impression on your ears and then sending the impressions to the manufacturer to be made. We choose among various earplug options and manufacturers depending on your specific needs. Custom earplugs range from $180 to $329 (more for added options or electronic plugs).

Appointment process

  1. We discuss your needs and agree on the best solution and style for your requirements.
  2. Extra options to consider include: colours, removal grips/pins/handles, metal detection ball (for food manufacturing), personalised name engraving, cords and clips.
  3. We make impressions of your ear by putting impression material (soft silicon) down your ear canal. This hardens after about 5 minutes.
  4. The impressions are sent to the manufacturer.
  5. The earplugs take 7-10 working days to be made.
  6. We contact you once we have received the earplugs so they can be picked up from the office or we will courier them to you ($9 courier fee).

Your ear canals must be completely clear of wax to obtain accurate/ precise ear impressions.

If needed, we will remove wax before making impressions ($50).
